Welcome to Tequileria: A Tasty Retreat in the Heart of Charlotte Douglas International Airport
If you find yourself passing through Charlotte Douglas International Airport, a delightful culinary experience awaits you at Tequileria. Nestled conveniently at 5501 Josh Birmingham Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28208, this vibrant eatery brings the lively flavors of Mexico right to your travel itinerary.
Tequileria is more than just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of authentic Mexican cuisine, thoughtfully crafted to cater to both the seasoned traveler and the casual diner. With an array of mouthwatering options, it’s a breath of fresh air amidst the hustle and bustle of airport life. Let’s highlight some of the standout dishes:
While visiting, several customer reviews speak to the heart and soul of Tequileria. David Ciarochi praises the establishment for offering “far better than average food” despite the busy airport setting. Others, like Elliott Roberts, commend the attentive service, spotlighting staff members who truly make your dining experience memorable. It’s worth noting that during peak hours, the service might be a tad slower, but as Rhondda Dyanne mentions, it's a testament to the restaurant being well-loved among travelers.
One important aspect to keep in mind is that while prices might reflect the airport location—especially for drinks—patrons, including Logan, recommend signature items like the chicken quesadilla. This hint at a delicious culinary option reflects a common desire among diners to enjoy quality food, even on the go.
In conclusion, Tequileria stands out as a gem within the transient atmosphere of an airport. The enticing array of dishes, coupled with warm, hospitable service, makes it a worthwhile stop for travelers looking to fuel up before their next adventure. So next time you’re at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, give Tequileria a try—your taste buds will thank you!
“ Far better than average food for being inside an airport. I'd not recommend if your layover is under 90 minutes as it can be a bit slow at times. Servers are fantastic but have a huge number of tables to look after. ”
“ It was really good. Reginald had his service on point and good was delicious! ”
“ I don't really know why all of the bad reviews are on here. They were slammed when I went into eat at the peak dinner hours. The service was as fast as it possibly could be and the food was even faster than that. The nachos were delicious. I wouldn't get the chicken on them again and the salsa didn't taste the freshest but I have no complaints at all. ”
“ This was my first time. Great food and atmosphere! Going to recommend this place to all my traveling friends and co-workers. Mainly, bc of the Manager, Foster. He was helpful and gave excellent customer service. I will be returning because of Foster. He deserves a raise!!! ”
“ Tequileria was a nice little Mexican restaurant with some pretty tasty food. Most of the negative reviews is due to the staff being understaffed and people flying use the same jokes, so the staff are more straight-to-the-point. Also, you’re going to overpay for alcoholic drinks because you’re in an airport. No surprise there. Highly recommend the chicken quesadilla! ”
“ My bartender Jane went above and beyond to serve me with delicious margaritas. Chips and queso were better than I expected from an airport bar. Overall great experience, would reccomend, and will return. Thank you, Jane ”
“ I was actually surprised. They were slammed. Packed! So, service is never going to be perfect in a busy airport restaurant, but it was fine. Best to order your food from their scan-option to get a jump on it. I grab napkins and clean the table with hand sanitizer because they wipe them so quickly. I had the very pricy upgrade margarita (airport prices are ridiculous), but at least it was killer! Honestly, one of the better margaritas I’ve had. You can taste the tequila big time! And it kicked my butt, which was good because of the turbulence we hit flying to Chicago after that. My vegan tacos were delicious. I don’t eat meat, but I’d never order it in a busy restaurant. Ick. The meat eaters at the table next to me said their food was fair. Mine was excellent and fresh tasting! 3 tacos packed full of fresh ingredients (the pickled onions made them!) So, mainly, you have to know how to navigate airport eating. ”
“ Very good food and atmosphere. A lot of the airport restaurants feature elbow to elbow seating..not the relaxation we were looking for. Tequilerias has lots of seating that was spacious and didn't feel cramped. Food was good and their drinks weren't crazy expensive like most airport places. Definitely recommend this place. ”
